ABOUT ALI

Hello!

My name is Alejandra, but every one calls me "Ali".

I've been a fitness trainer for over 35 years, I still can't believe it's been that long!

 

I'm passionate about health & fitness. I love to help and inspire people to live a healthy lifestyle so they can feel their best.

I believe life is beautiful and we should enjoy ourselves as much as possible.

We can do that best in a healthy body.

My style is non-competitive and encouraging.

I like to create a sense of community in my classes.

 
 

CLASSES

CORE CONNECTION

Improve your strength, posture and alignment in a full-body workout where every exercise is based in the core - the natural girdle that wraps around the waist flattening the belly and supporting the back. The class incorporates the use of weights and elements from Pilates all taught in a supportive non-competitive environment.

FOAM ROLLER CLASS

A satisfying class that will release tight muscles, myofascial tissue (the thin tissue that holds the insides of our body together) and any knots. It will increase flexibility, circulation (blood flow and oxygen), improve performance, reduce stress and even reduce cellulite. It will restore tissue so that the body can function as it should. All levels welcome!

PILATES

Pilates is a form of exercise done with concentration and control. It's a full body workout with no impact on joints. The basis of Pilates is to build CORE strength - the girdle-like cylinder that wraps around the torso to support the back and bring in the waistline. It improves, alignment, balance, coordination, circulation, flexibility and posture. All levels welcome!

STRETCH & RELAX

Choreographed to beautiful music this rejuvenating class combines stretching techniques from exercise physiology, dance and yoga to lengthen muscles, improve range of motion, enhance balance and prevent injury. Stretch progressions and individual attention is given making this class suitable for all flexibility levels. Not only great for the body but wonderful for the mind.

WEIGHTS CLASS

A great alternative to the weight room. This is a quick 30-minute class using hand & ankle weights and a perfect warm-up for the 9am Stretch & Relax class. Weights are a great way to build strength. You will feel the difference immediately. Whether you were going to the weight room before or not, if you're interested in getting stronger, join me. We will work upper and lower body, particularly strengthening the knees. 

ZUMBA

Groove to the beats of salsa, merengue and international rhythms in a fun fitness program that feels more like a dance party than a workout! Ali's easy to follow class is ideal for those who love to boogie but are not looking for overly complicated steps, ideal for beginners.

FAQ about the live on-line classes

What kind of device do I need for the on-line classes?

Any type of device that has internet connection - a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop.

What equipment do I need?

For all classes: A mat or carpet and a small pillow or folded towel to kneel on.

For Pilates and Core Connection: if you have, hand weights, a thera-band and a small ball, keep them handy as I may give options. but not necessary.

For stretch class a thera-band (or belt, scarf) and a tennis or like ball to massage the feet once in a while

For the Weights Class: hand & ankles weights (I suggest 5lbs each) and a chair.

For Foam & Body Rolling: a foam roller and a myofascial release ball.
